OPERS Retirement Coordinators were invited to participate in the annual training sessions held across the state September 14-23, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Woodward, Ponca City, Tulsa, McAlester and Lawton.

These training sessions are offered annually to allow Retirement Coordinators to obtain new information and updates, ask questions and get the new manual.

This year, we covered topics such as:

• Retirement planning
• Service credit information / Vesting
• Furloughs/Voluntary buyouts (VOBOS) 
• New legislation / Process changes
• Online enrollments / Payroll reporting
• Online resources
• Retirees returning to work
• Maintaining records
• Member communications
• Future plans at OPERS
