The Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) was established in 1964 to provide retirement and death benefits to state employees. Over the years, OPERS has made the promise of retirement benefits a reality. Today, OPERS provides more than $500 million annually in retirement, death and survivor benefits to more than 30,000 retired members or their beneficiaries. In addition to the administration of benefits to our retired members, OPERS also serves approximately 50,000 actively employed members.
