Statutes
The Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and the qualified governmental retirement plan are governed by Oklahoma Statutes Title 74, Sections 901 – 932. The Oklahoma State Employees Deferred Compensation Plan and the Oklahoma State Employees Deferred Savings Incentive Plan (SoonerSave) are governed by Oklahoma Statutes Title 74, Sections 1701-1707. The Uniform Retirement System for Justices and Judges are governed by Oklahoma Statutues Title 20, Sections 1101-1111. The official statutes can be found on the Oklahoma State Courts Network website. Proposed Permanent Rules Now Effective: The proposed permanent rules for the 2012 rulemaking session became effective May 11, 2012. The amendments are available here.
Permanent Rules: The permanent rules of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System, interpreting and applying Oklahoma statutes, have been codified at Title 590 of the Oklahoma Administrative Code ("OAC"). The OAC is published by the Office of Administrative Rules, a department of the Secretary of State, and contains all official agency rules. The rules listed below, while not official, are identical to those filed for codification and contain, to the best of our ability, the most recent amendments to the rules.
