The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011. This was the fifteenth consecutive year that OPERS has received this prestigious award. To receive a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report.

In addition to the Certificate of Achievement, GFOA has also given the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to OPERS for the Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011. A government unit must publish a popular annual financial report whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understand ability and reader appeal. This was the fifth consecutive year OPERS received this award.

The Certificate of Achievement and Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting are valid for a period of one year only. We believe our current reports continue to meet award requirements and are submitting them to GFOA to determine their eligibility.
