The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to OPERS and the URSJJ by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The annual reports have been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the annual reports.
OPERS has received this award for the 26th time, and the URSJJ for the 25th time.
In addition to the Certificate of Achievement, GFOA has also given the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to OPERS and the URSJJ. OPERS has received this award for the 16th time, and the URSJJ for the 10th time.
OPERS has also received the Public Pension Standards Award for Funding and Administration for the 13th time from the Public Pension Coordinating Council.
